西アフリカのガンビアには行ったことがないし、そもそも西アフリカへの渡航経験がない。いずれ行きたい地域であり、特に国際越境河川であるセネガル川の開発機構の事例を研究したと思っている。今日はガンビアからのニュースである。アフリカでも気候変動対策への動きが少しずつ出てきている。

Gambia: Water Resources Organises Investment Assessment Training

Banjul — The National Climate Committee under the chairmanship of Water Resources, on Tuesday, organised a three-day training on assessment of investment and financial flows for mitigation in the energy sector.
The minister of Forestry and the Environment, Hon. Jatto Sillah, said climate change is another disease in our environment. He said the world over, countries are threathened of disappearance especially the poor countries which hard hit by the effects of climate change. Hon. Sillah said climate change was negotiated at the Rio Summit and adopted as a Convention to UN. He highlighted some of the causes of climate change. The changes he noted were as a result of our industrial activities in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
He said The Gambia is among the 20 countries selected to assess investment and financial flows for climate change and further revealed that The Gambia has joined other countries to prepare their communique to the UNFCCC as well as prepared the NAPA indicating that the country has almost fulfilled its commitments. Almamy Camara, on behalf of UNDP Gambia office, said climate change crisis is now widely recognised as a threat to the world. He described climate change as one of the most significant and complex challenges facing humanity.
今週は国際越境河川流域のザンベジ川に係る諸国の水資源や内陸水運の研究の纏めをする予定である。19日は未熟なブログの開始から1年だ。ブログ開始によって人生上の大きな変換ができたと認識している。潜在的な志向を具体化できた素材でもあった。
